Business Computing – A Blend of Business and IT Skills

Business computing is the application of different technologies to meet the demands of business information. It is a blend of the fields of computer science, and could comprise some aspects of advanced computing. Graduates can find jobs in the field of business working on technical or computing-related issues or in the IT field.

The course is grounded in the workplace. Faculty members from the fields of engineering and business partners discuss their experiences with real-world business issues. You will also be able to develop live briefs that put your technical expertise to real-world issues. You will develop a broad range of business and IT skills over the course of four years including developing software applications and learning to analyse data with the intention of offering innovative solutions to companies.

In the initial year of your studies, you’ll explore subjects such as marketing and accounting, and gain practical experience with the most recent technology in computing and IT. You will develop your IT and business skills to prepare for a placement year. It could be on campus or at one of our many partner organizations throughout Kent and London. You’ll graduate with a unique combination of business and IT expertise which can lead to various options for careers, including software development and web development customer service, as well as data analytics.
